Victory

Photo by Bogdan Glisik on Unsplash

Just beyond the sunset,
I imagined a place of tranquil
where the ocean accepts
the sailor's victory.
Fully aware of the nasty storms
I set off towards my destiny.

The jade green waves
put on their show
and to their music I swayed.
I smiled as they glistened,
I wish I had listened
to their discreet uproar.

Before I knew it,
the winds joined forces
and in unison they waged war.
It was dark and gloomy,
They tried to overthrow me
and I almost fell overboard.

But the surge of my resilience
put the waves to shame
and indeed victory was accepted...

Break away

My love,
I wish you could see,
the beauty that awaits to be
a part of your experience,
a part of your reminiscence.

If only you cut off your chains
instead of your wings,
your views would be so different.

My love,
What are you waiting for?

Richer by Giving

There is immense value
within each one of us
that is cumulatively enriched
when we share with each other.

But when it comes to giving,
sadly we hold back
in the pretext of protecting ourselves
and then ironically wonder
where has the goodness of this world gone?

It takes wisdom to realise
and courage to admit
that what you have accumulated
through various experiences
isn't yours alone.

You share a part of something bigger
than yourself.
There is nothing you own.
For even your life was given to you.

Now's the time

How blissful it is
to be fearlessly immersed
in moments that you enjoy
whether alone or
with that trusted someone
where you don't have to pretend
and can spend hours on end
doing the simple things
that you love.

For you are bound to nothing
but your conscience
which will make you feel guilty
about not enjoying the little pleasures
and seizing opportunities
that life is offering you right now.

You can choose to hush the rush
and savour the taste
of being united with the present
where you are connected
with all that is
and not worry about
unpromised tomorrows.
